Conversion

Energy Conversion is the process where energy provided by nature gets transformed into the form of energy that humans can use. On a vast scale, the biosphere is disturbed for energy extraction. Oil, gas, and mining are relatively discrete operations. The change takes place in the underworld. On the Cold Fileds, the conversion is on a grand scale in full daylight. The process is not only a conversion of energy but also a conversion of the landscape. After the coal is extracted and separated from the soil, the land gest recultivated. The recultivated land inhabits an emptiness. It´s not only the coal that has been removed. It is as if all energy is gone.
